St. Ives Day Dinner 2026
Join Us for Our Second Annual St. Ives Day Dinner
Tuesday, May 19, 2026 - 5:30-7:30 PM - Dayton, Ohio
One of our two signature events, the annual St. Ives Day Dinner celebrates one of our two patrons: French Saint Ives of Kermartin. The 2026 Dinner will be held at Sinclair Community College Conference Center and will feature a keynote address by Brian Hickey, Executive Director of the Catholic Conference of Ohio, on Catholic Social Teaching and the Lawyer's Creed, entitled: "Living Our Faith Through Our Professions: The Ethical Lawyer and Catholic Social Teaching."
Brian will discuss the mission of the the Catholic Conference of Ohio, the official public policy voice of the Catholic Church in the state, including its work to inform policymakers, unite the Church’s advocacy efforts, and promote Catholic social teaching and faithful citizenship. Through that discussion, Brian will connect four key principles of Catholic social doctrine to the Lawyer’s Creed, including attorneys’ ethical and societal obligations, emphasizing how lawyers can live out these principles by forming their consciences and using their professional skills to serve the common good and strengthen civic life.
This program has been approved by the Supreme Court of Ohio Commission on Continuing Legal Education for 1.0 hours of Professional Conduct CLE Credit.

Tickets are $45 for attorneys and $30 for non-attorney guests.

About Brian Hickey
Brian Hickey has served as the Executive Director of the Catholic Conference of Ohio since 2023. In this role, he implements the bishops' policy decisions in Ohio and directs a team of lobbyists and other staff members. Hickey previously worked in the Middle East as a teacher and coach at a Palestinian Christian high school and with Caritas Internationalis in the Horn of Africa. He also spent time in Nepal and India with Catholic Relief Services. He holds a Master's degree in Global Affairs from the University of Notre Dame, where he met his wife, Kelli. They reside in Columbus with their son.
